Sea level rise isn't just a threat for cities along the ocean. Communities on the Bay shoreline also face significant flood risk and many already flood with the twice-per-year King Tides. This leaves homes, roads, schools, and other critical community infrastructure at risk, in addition to our own safety. What does it mean to adapt to rising Bay water levels? What should we expect local government to do to protect us? Join us for a presentation and discussion about flood resilience in the Bay Area with Save the Bay’s Political Director Allison Chan on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 2:30 pm. This is the second event in a new series called Speaking Of... About the Presenter: Allison Chan is the Political Director at Save The Bay, where she works to advance equitable climate adaptation and a healthy, thriving Bay through policy and advocacy. Allison has a master’s degree in environmental science and management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara. Registration is required.
